In the 1965, 27th February Lions Club of Burdwan was founded and 11th March, 1965 Club was Chartered by the Lions Clubs International, sponsoring club Lions Club of Raniganj. There was 30 Chartered  members who founded the Club and  Charter President was late Lion Dr.Somesh Ch. Ghosh.

 

Lions Club of Burdwan is doing outstandingly services to the suffering in the society with high reputation in Burdwan and its surroundings.

President Lion Prosenjit Dutta and his BOD of 2009-10 Installed on 27th June`09 by PDG Lion R. P. Chaudhary.
Lions Club of Burdwan hosted the 11th District Installation & Award Presentation Ceremony on 2nd August, 2009 at Sanskriti Loko Mancha, Burdwan.
Observation of Birthday of Dr. B. C. Roy held on 1st July`09 at the club premises. And on the said day 74 bottles Blood collected in the Blood Donation camp where 64 Athletes donate their blood.
Observance of World ORS day observed on 9th July,09
Best Secretary & Treasurer of District-322c3 for LY 2008-09- Awarded by Dist.322c3
Organized a Rally for awareness of AIDS, Thalamassemia, Signh First & Drug on 30th Aug.'09, where 200 Athlete of BDSA & Lion members participated.
Celebration of Teachers Day & observance of Birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan  held on 5th Sep.09 . Where Prof. Subrata Pal, V.C. of Burdwan University and Smt. Krishna Mukherjee, Headmistress of Vidyarthy Bhavn Girls H. S. were present and facilitated. 
District MERL Seminar hosted on 5th & 6th September, 2009 at the Club.
Observation of Magazine Month held on 19th September, 2009 at the Club.
New Meeting Hall inaugurated on 22nd Nov. by Sm. Saoli Mitra, Eminent Theatre Personality.
Observation of Past President Month held on 12th December, 2009.
Baby show and Sit & Draw competion held on 23rd January, 2010.
Observation of 61st Republic Day and District Governor's Official Club Visit held on 26th January, 2010.
A rally " SIGHT FOR JOURNEY" a District Programme hosted by Lions Club of Burdwan on 26th January, 2010 at 3.00p.m. from Rajbati to Lions Club of Burdwan.
A blood donation camp held on 26th January, 2010 at Radha Rani Stadium, Burdwan in collaboration with Burdwan District Sports Association.
Observation of PDG Month will be held on 27th February, 2010.
